THIS WEEK
I'm 18 weeks and am so excited to see our little baby in a couple of days, as I've said countless times before I can't wait to know that he or she is growing healthy and strong - but it is also really exciting that, unless this baby is as stubborn as their big brother, we may find out if we are having a boy or a girl! Majority is guessing girl and even the old wives tales (as silly as they may be) are putting girl in the lead but we'll see, we all just want a healthy baby, boy or girl is just the icing on the cake and we'll be happy either way! I feel like it was just a few weeks ago that I couldn't wait to know I was feeling our baby move and now both Dylan and I have felt our baby move (on the outside), we were actually relaxing on the couch watching a cooking show I believe? and I was feeling some strong movement so I rested my hand lightly on my belly and sure enough I felt a little push against my hand so I immediately told Dyl and had him put his hand on my belly where I was feeling movements and every time I'd feel the baby move I'd tell him confirming that he was definitely feeling our little baby move. We can't believe how strong he/she is getting and I cannot wait to feel more kicks and movements in the coming weeks

BABY UPDATE
This week baby is the size of an sweet potato and I know I say this practically every week but I just cannot believe how big our baby is growing! Grow, baby, grow!

Over the next month baby's weight will increase quickly and his/her immune system is busy preparing for like outside the womb. Baby continues to practice breathing by using the amniotic fluid and it's chest is moving in rhythm as if breathing air. The umbilical cord which supports baby's growing needs continues is growing.
MOMMA UPDATE
I've been feeling pretty emotional this week, I'm naturally emotional but adding all of these pregnancy hormones into the mix and sometimes I'm even shocked by the things that trigger me. Feeling a lot of the same soreness as last week and although I am (for the most part) only getting up once a night to go bathroom (and sometimes snack, and put our puppy out for a middle-of-the-night-pee) I'm not sleeping any more soundly, some nights are better but it is getting harder to find a comfortable position at night - especially one that will also alleviate the back and hip pain I've been having. The runny/stuffy nose that I brought up a few weeks ago has now become a daily occurrence that typically lasts a few hours before fading away - had me worried at first that I was catching a cold but luckily it is just pregnancy haha.

DADDY MOMENTS
Seeing how unbelievably happy Daddy was to feel his little boy or girl kicking back at him.

FAVORITE PART OF THE WEEK
Both of us feeling our little baby move!
LOOKING FORWARD TO
Seeing our beautiful baby and making sure he or she is healthy - and hopefully being able to call her a HE or a SHE :)
xo, Anne.
